This is a topcoat passivation process containing cobalt which offers a high level of protection against corrosion.
Our current blue passivation has a high resistance, compared with other blue passivation treatments, resulting in a resistance to corrosion of more than 144 Hrs to white corrosion. The majority of blue passivates range between 48 and 96 hrs.
In compliance with the RoHs regulations, our blue finish is free from hexavalent chromium Cr 6+, as well as from lead, cadmium and mercury.
Recommendations
Our blue passivation process is recommended for exposed materials in indoor environments due to its visual appearance.
It is also suitable for exposed materials outdoors, although it is only advisable in low corrosive environments.
